The Coalition understands the role renewable power can play in Ontario’s power supply mix. However, we oppose the proposed wind power plant on Amherst Island because of potential adverse health, environmental, visual and economic effects. CPAI is not against wind-power as an alternative energy source.  Rather, we are against developers who want to create an industrial-scale wind-turbine installantion which, by its size, spacing of turbines and noise, has the potential to damage seriously the health of the island's residents and the delicately balanced natural environment of our island.
